Paraskavedekatriaphobia – Fear Of Friday The Thirteenth (13th)
Today I started hearing the word “paraskavedekatriaphobia” quite a bit, and to be honest I thought everyone had gone mad.
Apparently though, according to wikipedia, paraskavedekatriaphobia is actually the fear of Friday the 13th. I’m not even too sure how to even pronounce paraskavedekatriaphobia but still, it’s a word with meaning.
It’s words like paraskavedekatriaphobia that really make me wonder why some words couldn’t be more simple.
Anyway, apparently sufferers of paraskavedekatriaphobia feel so sick that they won’t do anything on Friday the 13th, resulting in high amounts of lost business and related things.
As I am not superstitious, I don’t suffer from paraskavedekatriaphobia, but I can imagine how those suffering from paraskavedekatriaphobia could feel on Friday the 13th.
