This is a great list Simon. I’ve gotten some nice backlinks myself using this strategy so I know it works. Do you see any traffic coming from your comments or just backlinks?

Domain Structures last blog post..Page Rank Update

The list is great. But, I see two problems. First, this list will be outdated within a few weeks. Second, it really doesn’t do a lot of good to anyone to post unrelated comments/links to blogs. It would be nice to have this list searchable by keyword. Like I said, great work but I am not sure how long it will be fruitful.

@ 1. DoFollow Search Engine – Why will it be outdated in 2 weeks?
2. This is a Make Money Online blog – those are Make Money Online links? They are 100% relevant to this niche – sorry, I don’t know how to make a searchable list

I have installed the top commentator on my site and is by far my favorite plugin.

I don’t understand do follows remarks either Simon, this will not be outdated.

I noticed my name in the list.. so once again thanks. The top commentators widget is probably one of the best to add to any blog. It gives you the chance to give back to your readers and help them gain more exposure.

Well, I do believe in passing link love to my loyal customers, so I keep on writing “Link Love” posts as well for top commentators for a permanent backlink from one of my blog posts.

Hey, your comment section is a little distracting and makes it difficult to read. Just thought I would mention it. Comment section that put them into boxes makes it easier on the eyes.

You know at first I wasn’t too sure why this would be a good post! But now that I read it all and seen you have them ranked from high to low page rank that makes all the difference!

In response to an earlier comment about making the list searchable, check out http://www.commenthunt.com – they’re using a custom Google search, presumably with a manually-maintained list of sites behind the scenes. Check out your AdSense account – I’m sure it can’t be too hard to do.

Thanks for adding OpTempo to your list. In addition to the index page being PR4 several of my internal pages are PR4 as well.

One thing to watch out for if you use Top Commentator is that some versions have a bug that will allow someone to ‘hijack’ a current Top Commentator and replace the link, even if they’re sent to Akismet. I did a fix for this a while back and it’s available for download at OpTempo.

Thanks for your list, some blogs seem to have the Top Commentators plugin installed but there are no top commentators listed, even though some posts have recent comments. If anyone knows how that works that’d be helpful, thanks again for the great list.
