First you must be an active user of their website and show that by leaving quality comments and even posting in their forum, digging their story, and whatever activity the webmaster can see. Then just e-mail them a nice e-mail and they’ll have to agree, unless they don’t care about their loyal readers!

actually, one strategy i use is to simply frequent the site.. comment.. and try to gain friendship with the owner.. give link love once in a while and most of the time, they simply return the favor!
