I haven’t updated the blog in my signature for almost a year. It still gets about 1000 unique visitors every weekday. While you may need to update a blog very frequently if you’re depending on social media and referral traffic you don’t need to if you depend on Google and, to a lesser extent other search engines, to deliver your traffic.

Yes…all those extra hours away make a difference doesn’t it? I’m also going back to school and have had to cut back on a lot of other things I’m used to doing. Between classes, kids, husband and house…I’m pretty busy too!!!!

What classes are you taking? I’m taking economics (yes, I realize this was the absolute worst time in the world to take a class like this…ARGH!!!!)

Well, I can relate to that. I have a really important offline project and I’ve been working for the last 4 days from 4oclock to 22PM.

@ Frank – Yeah, it all depends on whether you target keywords or not – on the articles that I have targetted a keyword (only 1 or 2) I do get search traffic from those

@ Barbara – seems like your hands are 3 times as full as mine – I’m taking economics, physics, chemistry, IT, intro calculus and english

@ Andrew – that must be a pretty big project – mind sharing some details?

I did it once or twice as well…never again if I can help it

I’ve had the same situation on my blog recently where I stopped posting (for almost an entire month) and my traffic stats took a similar nose dive. Anyway, they are working their way back up now, hope yours do as well!

I have seen this as well. Sometimes I just get busy and can’t make a post. When I do have time, I try to pump out 3-4 posts that I can use when I am busy.

Wow, that is a significant change. But, I think to solve the problem is how to make a regular post even it not a daily update.

For real though. I had that problem for a while then I made a point to try and and least have a weeks worth of scheduled post. This has help in the times when I don’t have much time.

Plus, I have a lot of focus on SEO. Article Marketing and such.

Anyway, hope the traffic picks back up.

Sounds like you have got a lot on! Dont take on too much, your school work must really come first. You can always make a career out of blogging when you leave school

Welcome back. Well, its nothing new that sometimes you don’t have the time to post on your blog and keep it updated. More often then not, the traffic is disastrous, but in your case, you just came in at the right time and I am pretty sure that, there will an incline in the stats. Wish you luck mate!!!

Don’t forget your school work! I wish i had spent more time focusing on school. I didn’t and got a lot of specialty training which in the end cost me much more money and isn’t respected as much as a degree would have been.
