Our dogs love to play and have fun with us. There are various pieces of equipment that we can use for on and with our dogs. A dog agility tunnel is one such piece of equipment which not only allows our dog to play but also train and become more agile. You must have taken your dogs to various dog competitions that take place from time to time. You might have noticed that dog agility tunnels are used in such competitions as well for testing your dog. If you are giving your dog some training then your dog will have to undergo such tunnels.

An untrained dog might face some initial problems in passing through such tunnels and might have many apprehensions. But as time passes and your dog is given proper training you will notice that your dog is growing fonder of passing through different agility tunnels. If you are giving training to your dog yourself then you must use agility tunnels because it really enhances the agility of your dog and trains it perfectly. Give your dog training to pass through different types of tunnels. If you are using a tunnel just for letting your dog enjoy then use a tunnel which is at least 10 feet long.

While purchasing a tunnel for your dog you should give importance to its color, size and your dog’s interest. That color of the tunnel should be chosen which your dog hates. Your dog will come out faster from the tunnel if he or she hates that color. Also keep in mind the size of your dog. The tunnel should be big enough to let your dog pass through it. If you have a small dog then buy a light weight agility tunnel. But if your dog is heavy and big then do not go for such light weight tunnels.

Dog agility tunnels are also bought by pet owners for the purpose of training and preparing a dog for a contest. Should you be purchasing one for this reason, it is important that you purchase one of length 20 feet or greater. In competitions the tunnels the dogs must pass through are quite long, so by purchasing a large one before the contest you are giving your dog a good chance of winning. The other reason why many people opt to buy a dog agility tunnel is to simply play with their dog and have fun with them.

So do not wait and buy an agility tunnel for your dog and have a good time playing with your dog. Your dog will slowly love playing in the tunnels and will be keen for going in and out of the tunnel.
